Our team is actively involved in medical education, research, outreach, and advocacy. As Tufts University faculty, we mentor students from Tufts Medical School, working closely with students and residents on research projects and clinical rotations.
Our neonatologists present lectures locally as well as nationally. As part of the Vermont Oxford Network (VON), an international quality-improvement data-driven collaborative working to improve neonatal care, we lead multi-year quality-improvement projects. Members of our team perform quality-improvement initiatives in the NICU and collaborate throughout the country to produce work featured at conferences.
As experts in the field, we also provide outreach to our regional community hospitals. As instructors for the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), a course approved by the American Academy of Pediatrics, we teach newborn caregivers, including residents, neonatal resuscitation with hands-on simulation training.
As instructors for the S.T.A.B.L.E. Program, we also teach post-resuscitation/pre-transport stabilization care for sick newborns in the community and to our resident physicians.
