Inpatient Stay

Maine Neonatology Associates (MNA) provides comprehensive care to ill infants needing long-term support in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This can be a difficult and stressful time for families. We partner with you—our most important team members—as well as a comprehensive team of nurses, neonatal nurse practitioners, physician assistants, respiratory therapists, social workers, lactation consultants, physical therapists, speech and occupational therapists, pharmacists, and family support givers to deliver the best possible outcome for your newborn.

We care for infants with a broad range of medical and surgical diagnoses and offer many life-saving therapies, including high frequency ventilation, nitric oxide, and therapeutic hypothermia. It is not always clear how long an inpatient stay will last. Your baby must reach certain milestones before transitioning home.
